Messenger Platform 2.4 – Improved Customer Chat Controls and API Updates

We’re pleased to announce the release of Platform 2.4, which focuses on providing more customization options for the customer chat plugin, as well as updates to our broadcast API and more. We’ve highlighted some of the features below, and a full rundown can be found on the Messenger Platform developer blog.

Customer Chat and Send to Messenger Plugin Customizations

We’ve added the ability to further customize and manage both of these plugins. For more details check out the customer chat plugin SDK and the CTA text options in the send to Messenger plugin docs.

Broadcast API Updates

Built for non-promotional messaging, the broadcast API offers you an easy way to reach all of your users, or segmented groups with a single API call. To provide additional outreach to a specific audience for broadcast sends, we are introducing scheduling and label predicates in this release. To learn more, see the Broadcast API docs.

These are just a few of the updates we have posted. You can see the full details in our Messenger Platform blog post, as well as in the changelog. We look forward to your feedback and welcome questions on the Messenger Platform Developer Community.
