Messenger & Variety Present ‘Room For Discussion – Mentorship & Black Women in Comedy’

Our world is constantly shaped by people who are living their authentic stories out loud. This can’t be more true than for Black Women in comedy who are defining the industry today and making waves around the world. Messenger is proud to support these talented women by encouraging conversation around their experiences and amplifying their stories as they live their truths and share them with us.

From breakout roles in movies to standalone comedy specials and podcasts, together these women are building a rich and dynamic comedic legacy. On February 25th, in partnership with Variety, Messenger will host Room For Discussion: Mentorship & Black Women in Comedy on Messenger Rooms spotlighting inspiring female comics that are creating change, moving culture, and uplifting future generations to come. Tune in as Michelle Buteau, London Hughes, and Sam Jay discuss overcoming challenges, breaking barriers, and the impact of mentorship on their careers.

Variety consistently creates insightful and engaging content about the entertainment industry, so we couldn’t think of a better partner to lead a thoughtful (and fun!) discussion on Messenger Rooms about the impact of Black Women on one of the most dynamic areas of entertainment.
