In celebration of the iconic franchise, Top Gun, Messenger and Instagram have teamed up with Paramount Pictures to launch a new Top Gun Trivia Experience ahead of the latest, highly-anticipated film in the franchise — Top Gun: Maverick (in theaters May 27). Just in time for Top Gun Day (yes, that’s a thing!), you can check out the all-new trivia experience dubbed Top Gun Flight School on Messenger and Instagram. So grab your aviators and get ready to prove just how much you know about the cult classic film!
Welcome to Flight School, Aviators
Top Gun Flight School will be a 12-question, gauntlet-style trivia challenge with each question harder than the last. Content will include cast cameos, throwback photos and videos, new trailers, quotes, emojis, and more!
What would a flight school be without a call sign?! As students advance, they will earn different AR helmets featuring call signs associated with the new film. Get one question right and you will unlock the “Payback” call sign, get ten questions right and you will earn the coveted “Maverick” call sign (plus bragging rights!). Following completion of the game, aviators can take their AR helmets to Instagram to boast their call signs in an all-new, action-packed AR gaming experience and take flight!
Top Gun Flight School builds on Messenger’s Movie Mate™ experience introduced in 2021 in partnership with Meta’s Creative Shop, where people can stream cult classics and get access to behind-the-scenes moments, exclusive photos, and entertaining facts.
Accessing the AR Trivia Experience
To access the Top Gun Flight School trivia experience on Messenger, head to the Top Gun: Maverick Facebook page and click the ‘Message Now’ button to begin the chat experience. On Instagram, send a DM to TOPGUNMOVIE to start the experience.
